Assalam Aleikum ICCI Community,
It is my pleasure to continue to serve you as the full-time school principal this year! This is my fourth year in educational leadership. Prior to becoming the principal, I was the Arabic teacher at the ICCI Academy for fourteen years, as well as the Dean. I pursued many leadership experiences throughout my career including teaching at the Sunday school, and having the honor to become the principal there. I worked with Dar Alhuda as a coordinator for the Arabic curriculum, I also taught for UNRWA in Jordan prior to coming to America. Even with these amazing experiences, I will always be a teacher at heart.
My educational background includes a Bachelor in Arabic and Islamic Studies including methods of teaching. I’m in the process of finishing my masters in bilingual studies. By pursuing lifelong learning, I intend to be an example to students and teachers that we should never stop learning.
I am blessed to be the mother of two children. I have the same expectations for them as I do your children, who I love as if they are my own. I want to see them excel and become productive human beings, who have the opportunity to become anything they want in the future,
It is my privilege to lead the ICCI Academy and the many talented teachers and students here! My goal is to continue to provide a supportive climate and Islamic culture at the ICCI that is conducive to teaching and learning. By doing so, each student and teacher can experience growth…. I look forward to interacting with our community this year!

I have just moved from Florida to Chicago just a few weeks ago, so I am excited to start my new life here. This will be my first year teaching at ICCI, but my third year teaching kindergarten. I loved teaching kindergarten the past two years. I’m very hands on and creative when it comes to teaching them new topics each week. I like to have them enjoy their time at school while grasping as much information given to them that day. Hello, Firsties! I’m Miss Hussein and I am so excited to be your teacher for the 2021-2022 school year! Our year is going to be filled with lots of excitement and learning and I am so happy I get to be a part of it! I look forward to working with such a wonderful group of children. I recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and minor in Teaching English as a Second Language at Northeastern Illinois University. Before graduating, I have worked in various other schools both assisting and teaching lessons. During my time in your child’s class, I hope to excite your child about the world of learning and broaden his or her academic interests. As your child’s teacher, there are going to be expectations from both students and parents. First Grade is an exciting but critical time in your child’s development and growth. As parents, you also play an important role in this wonderful journey! The following expectations are:
1. Let’s work together to help your child! Let me know anything that can help!
2. Read to your child more than once a day!
3. Writing exploration at home is critical!
These are my top expectations for you and can’t wait to work together!
